North Shore Surfcasting Club

The North Shore Surfcasting Club was founded in 1968. Over the years it has grown from a ‘small handful’ of die-hard fishermen to its present day status – a highly popular, family-oriented club that boasts more NZ Fishing Records (both Junior and Senior) than any other land-base club in the country. We’ve also taken won the NZACA Nationals on many occasions in Senior Mens and Womens as well as Juniors!

Although we hold a number of local (one and two day) fishes during the year, our best fishing fun is to be had on the ‘away trips’. We regularly travel to HOT SPOTS on Great Barrier Island, the east and west coasts of the Coromandel Peninsula, the Far North and ‘other’ locations TOO HOT TO MENTION!

We are committed to the success and well-being of our club and its members, and accordingly extend an open invitation to any ‘would-be newcomers’ to visit us on Club Night and / or attend any one of our many ‘away trips’ this year.

Club Nights are held on the second Tuesday of each month. These are hosted at the Birkenhead RSA, Recreation Drive, Birkenhead. Meetings commence at 8pm and generally run for an hour. Club Members are kept closely informed throughout the year (of events, points ladder updates, fishing calendar updates and other issues pertaining to the Club) via our comprehensive Monthly Newsletter – TIGHT LINES.

If you live on the Auckland’s North Shore (or even if you don’t) and you’re looking to join one of the most successful land-base fishing clubs in the country, please feel free to contact one of the following committee members:
